VOUCHER AND MAP BOOKLET FOR THE YEAR 2010
CALLING ALL ELOUNDA AND PLAKA BUSINESSES
It's time to get Elounda and Plaka back on the tourist map if we can do that then your business will also be on that map. I am proposing that with your help we get a voucher and tourist map booklet produced for 2010. This booklet then will be distributed from the airport and tourist agencies and in local businesses like yours. Its time to get your business back on the tourist map and to do this we will have to pull together to make this a success. I propose that if a business wants to be on the map that there should be some kind of voucher system in operation which means that you the business will offer some kind of discount to the customer with the booklet. This will be a discount chosen by you at the time of joining the scheme, example of this would be a 10% discount or something similar. I am also proposing that depending on the discount you choose if you choose a high discount such as something like between 50% and free then you will get a more prominent position in the booklet and a short article written about your business.
Now wait I hear you cry how is this all going to be paid for printing and distribution ?
Well you the business have already paid in a round about way by showing your interest and showing you are willing to give a discount. Yes but how do you pay for the booklet ? Well when I show that there is an interest by you the local businesses that can offer discounts, I then can then show this to businesses who cannot give discounts. Example banks, taxi services, estate agents , doctors, dentists, chemists, post offices. All these people are in business and they want to get people through their doors too, so we offer them advertising in the booklet for a price the more interest we can get in this the less it will cost those who have to pay for their advertising with hard cash.
All the money that is brought in by advertising is ploughed back into the voucher and booklet system this would be a none profit venture by me and other interested parties. There would be some kind of committee who would over look the finances, and to make sure of fare play.
I hear you asking there has to be something in it for you ? Well of course there is I am training as an estate agent and I want to see more visitors coming to Elounda I want the visitors to see my advert for this website and my estate agent business.
It is in all our interests to have more visitors coming to Elounda whatever our business is. It is time to be proactive and stop waiting for the customer and start bringing the customer to us and yes to start working together.
