It was a perfect night and setting for the Ergospasio Greek Night, excellent food and wine was on offer and complimented by beautiful traditional Greek music performed by Vaggelis Tsagarakis and Kostas Tsamandouras.
It was a still warm night the food and drink was professionally served as the music was played. As well as the traditional music there was traditional food on offer with a wonderful selection of wines also on offer.
Evangelos Tsagkarakis
I have often thought that there is not enough traditional music and dance in Elounda. This night the music was traditional, played on traditional Greek instruments, in fact Evangelos Tsagkarakis is an accomplished player of traditional Greek and Cretan instruments including laouto (Cretan lute), lira (Cretan fiddle), sfirothiabolo (Cretan recorder), Cretan mandolin, mboulgari (long-neck lute, outi (Arabic lute), and bouzouki He also sings a range of Greek music repertories: Byzantine (Christian Orthodox) music, Cretan music, Asia Minor music, Rebetika, and Epirotika.
The perfect setting for an excellent night of great food, wine and song
The Performance
Elounda, 1938…
The first state-of-the-art carob processing plant in Crete, unique in its kind, the HAROUPOERGOSPASIO, opened and remained in operation for twenty years becoming a trademark industry and the commercial nexus of Elounda. Now renovated to a high standard and transformed into a first class restaurant.
This was a great night and it was good to hear the traditional sounds of Greek and Cretan music. The venue and setting was complimented by the first class service and food that was on offer. The Ergospasio is a relatively new business, however the secret to the restaurants success is simple, they push that little harder they give that little more to their customers and I am not on about food portions here, I am talking about standards, the restaurant gives it's customers what they deserve which is a high standard of food and service at a very reasonable price. The owners have now pushed that line a little further by offering their customers a great night of traditional music to compliment this already excellent restaurant.
The smiles say it all !
