Awaiting update for the 2010 season...
Welcome to the Canal Bar, which has been reopened under new management. This beautifully situated bar has just got better with a total revamp of the buildings and amenities. The position of the bar is well known to be one of the best situated bar in Elounda, a short walk across the causeway to the old canal.
The decor has a rustic feel and look with stone from the original buildings being used in the rebuild of the bar. The bar its self has no roof but has a bamboo canopy which allows the light and cool air in to the inside area of the bar this also gives the inside a feel of a beach type bar.
Without doubt this bar has to be the best situated bar in the Elounda, Plaka area. During the heat of the day it is a perfect place to sit and relax over a cool drink after the short walk over the causeway. If you prefer to drive over to the bar this is no problem with plenty of parking next to the bar.
Tastefully decorated with local beach art created by one of your hosts of the bar, the whole rebuild of the bar its self gives this bar a rustic feel and a beach bar feel as well.
During the day it's a place to relax and through the night it is a place to listen to music and enjoy a drink or 2.
During the summer season the Canal Bar has a full list of live entertainment, check the link to the right for an example...
The Canal Bar is the perfect location to visit when visiting Elounda this will truly add to your enjoyment of Elounda. EloundaInfo highly recommends the Canal Bar as a place to relax over a drink.
My best wishes and good luck to the Canal Bar in 2009 and beyond.
